Applied Behaviour Analyst/ Behaviour Therapist
I’m an ABA therapist from Dublin, Ireland. I graduated with a BA in Psychology from University College Dublin in 2013 and I am currently completing the BCaBA certification for Behaviour Analyst Practitioners, accredited by the BCBA. I specialize in behavioural therapy for children with Autism, ADHD and other developmental and behavioural difficulties, particularly those of pre-primary and primary school age.
I have experience co-facilitating social skills interventions at Social Skills Ireland. Here I worked with children on the Autistic Spectrum (aged 7 – 10), supplying them with social skills and self-regulation techniques, using the principals of CBT and ABA. Following this I completed an ABA internship here in Ho Chi Minh City, where I participated in ABA workshops and provided ABA therapy to children of all ages affected by behavioural, developmental and learning difficulties, most notably Autism and ADHD.
I have also spent some time in the US, where I worked as part of an interdisciplinary team at the Centre For Children and Families at Florida International University. Here I was implementing a behaviour modification program for pre-school children diagnosed with (or at risk of developing) ADHD, Oppositional-Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorder (http://ccf.fiu.edu/for-families/clinical-services/summer-treatment-program/summer-treatment-program-for-pre-kindergarteners/).
In addition, I have 2 years experience as a Kindergarten teacher at Horizon International Bilingual School here in Ho Chi Minh City. I was the homeroom teacher for the KG5 class (5 & 6 year-olds). Here I focused on developing pre-literacy and reading skills, numeracy skills, motor skills and life skills, particularly independence and social skills, for young children.
I can offer the following services: 1:1 Behaviour (ABA) therapy for children and young people with Autism, ADHD and other behvioural or developmental difficulties; parent training for parents of children with the difficulties mentioned; support/ shadow teaching for students in need of individual behavioural or learning support in the classroom; social skill groups for children with any social difficulties (including those with Autism); 1:1 tutoring in English/ literacy/ numeracy for pre-primary and primary school students.
