My name is Julie O’Meara. I am a Speech and Language Therapist from Ireland. I graduated from UCC with a BSc in Speech and language Therapy from University College Cork. I am currently working with ICCD in Thao Dien. I moved to HCMC in August 2015.
Before moving to Ho Chi Minh City, I worked with Kerry Autism association.
This involved home visits for children with Autism . Services included screening and assessment, intervention, home and school programs and parent training. I have experience in a community setting in Ireland involving both pediatric and adult caseloads
I am trained in Hanen 'It takes two to talk'. This program is designed specifically for parents of young children (birth to 5 years of age) who have been identified as having a language delay. In a small, personalized group setting, or on a one to one basis, parents learn practical strategies to help their children learn language naturally throughout their day together. I am also certified with PECS. This is a picture exchange system which is most commonly used for children with autism spectrum disorder.
I can offer the following services: Assessment and screening followed by intervention for people with speech, language, voice, fluency or swallowing difficulties; home and school programs for children with speech and/or language difficulties; Hanen program ‘It takes two to talk’ on one on one or group settings; and PECS training.
