Esneri is an Occupational Therapist from South Africa. She graduated from Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (with distinction) from University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa in 2015. Esneri has been living and working in Vietnam since 2017.
Esneri has experience working as an Occupational Therapist in rural and remote areas in South Africa. She provided Occupational Therapy services to patients in the hospital, creche, clinic and community settings. She supports children and adults with developing skills of independence and occupation. This entails administering standardised assessments and providing client-centred interventions.
From her ongoing training and career experience as an Occupational Therapist, she can offer the following services:
● Assessment and individual or group intervention, for children with behavioural, fine and gross-motor, visual perceptual and sensory difficulties due to cognitive or physical impairments affecting their lives in various areas, such as activities of daily living, play, school and social/emotional interactions. This includes but is not limited to children with Developmental Delays, Learning Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.
● Support and training for parents of children presenting with developmental delays or who are having trouble in performing their activities of daily living, is struggling with play and school related tasks or is diagnosed with cognitive or neurological disorders.
● Group therapy for adults with mental health concerns that are requiring support in areas of occupation such as work and social skills. Group therapy is focused on aspects including but not limited to pre-vocational skills, time management skills, problem solving skills, assertiveness training, relaxation and mindfulness.
Esneri believes in client-centred and holistic intervention. She is currently learning to speak Vietnamese and continually participates in evidence-based workshops and courses. She recently started training in the application of the DIR Floortime approach by Dr Stanley Greenspan as part of therapeutic intervention.
In her free time, she enjoys indulging in Vietnamese street food, getting lost in the narrow alleyways of Ho Chi Minh City, meeting new people from interesting countries.
